Our Grantmaking
|
Support To Established Organizations
In 2006, the Cricket Island Foundation developed a strategic and engaged approach to grantmaking. Our regionally-based cohort model now allows grassroots and emerging organizations to collaborate with established organizations within a geographically focused cohort. We focus regionally in order to strategically develop local organizations, build partnerships with and among grantees, and promote collaborations with local funders. We believe that we can most effectively support the field of youth led social change by providing strategic, deep, and long-term support to a small number of established organizations that:
- See themselves as part of a larger movement for youth voice and youth-led social change, and operate in this spirit of collaboration with other organizations and stakeholders working towards the same goals.
- Consider themselves learning organizations that test ideas, identify challenges, and strive to improve organizational outcomes.
- Can serve as anchor organizations and field leaders that can share lessons learned with allied organizations.
